Flydubai attacker was banned by Oman over radicalization fears
Original: Report: Flydubai terrorist was banned from flying by Oman over suspected radicalization
A report by The Times of Israel says the man behind the Flydubai attack had previously been barred from flying by Oman due to suspected radicalization. If confirmed, the claim raises questions about how the ban was handled, whether airlines were informed, and how security coordination between Gulf states failed to prevent the incident. The report is drawing attention to gaps in regional counterterrorism watchlist practices.
Why now: The revelation that authorities had prior warning of the attacker's radicalization is fueling scrutiny of security and information-sharing failures.
