404 Media reports that journalists are increasingly receiving press tips by email that are clearly written by artificial intelligence. The outlet says the trend shows how AI agents are now being used to mass-send pitches and tips to inboxes worldwide, raising concerns about authenticity, trust in sources, and the growing volume of automated content aimed at newsrooms.

Why now: The spread of AI agents automating mass outreach to journalists is a fresh example of generative AI reshaping how inboxes and newsrooms are spammed.
