NFL suspends and fines 49ers owner Jed York
Original: NFL suspends and fines 49ers owner Jed York for violation of conduct policy tied to prostitution arrest
The NFL has suspended and fined San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York for a violation of the league's personal conduct policy, with the punishment tied to a prostitution arrest. The news, first reported by Fox News, is spreading across sports and general news coverage as fans and commentators react to an owner facing league discipline rather than a player or coach.
Why now: League discipline of a team owner is highly unusual, and the connection to a prostitution arrest makes it a major sports scandal.
