Original: Russia retaliates after Hungary expels 10 diplomats, deepening Budapest-Moscow rift since Orbán’s ouster
Russia has carried out retaliatory measures after Hungary expelled ten of its diplomats, in a sign of the worsening relationship between Budapest and Moscow. The rift is described as deepening since the reported ouster of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, a longtime ally of the Kremlin whose government had maintained unusually close ties with Russia. The reciprocal expulsions mark a new low in a diplomatic relationship once defined by Orbán's balancing act between Moscow and the West.
