Original: Putin to escalate attacks on Ukraine as US midterm elections approach, Zelenskyy says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to escalate attacks on Ukraine as the United States midterm elections approach. The warning suggests Moscow may be timing intensified strikes to influence American politics, amid ongoing missile and drone barrages against Ukrainian cities and continued Western debate over support for Kyiv.
Why now: Ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine and their possible link to US domestic politics are keeping the war at the centre of global attention.
