Workers at Four New York Museums Ratify Contracts
Original: Unionized Workers at 4 NYC Museums Ratify Contracts, Quelling Strike Fears
Unionized workers at four New York City museums have voted to ratify new contracts, removing the threat of a strike that had been looming over the institutions. The agreements secure terms for staff and ensure normal operations continue at the museums, whose workers had been negotiating amid broader labor organizing in the city's cultural sector.
Why now: Newly ratified contracts averted a potential museum strike, a notable development in New York's wave of cultural-sector labor actions.
