George Best's famous squandering quote recirculates online
Original: Quote from footballer George Best: "I spent a lot of money on booze, girls and fast cars – the rest I just squandered."
A classic quip from the late Northern Ireland and Manchester United winger George Best is making the rounds: "I spent a lot of money on booze, girls and fast cars – the rest I just squandered." The line, one of football's most quoted jokes, captures the myth of the brilliant but self-destructive 1960s star, and fans continue to share it as fond remembrance of his talent and lifestyle.
Why now: Best remains a beloved football legend whose self-deprecating wit gets regularly reshared, likely prompted by the Life on Mars TV reference in the tags.
