A viewer binge-watching Monarch of the Glen on BritBox says the title misled them into expecting a period series, but the show turns out to be a modern drama set in the Scottish Highlands. They praise it as a refreshing change of pace from the platform's usual crime and mystery fare, and say they are learning a lot about Scotland along the way.

Why now: The classic comfort drama is finding new audiences on streaming as people look for lighter alternatives to crime shows.

• On britbox, I'm currently binge-watching Monarch of the Glen. From the title, I thought it was going to be a period series, but happily it's not. And I'm learning so much about Scotland! So nice once in a while to not be watching murders and mysteries on that service! https://… · AncTreat@sunny.garden · 2
