Jaishankar meets Canada's foreign minister at UNGA

Original: Always a pleasure to meet FM @AnitaAnandMP of Canada #UNGA81 A productive discussion as we prepare to take the relations

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Canada's Foreign Minister Anita Anand on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly, describing the discussion as productive. He said both sides are preparing to take India-Canada relations to a higher level, a notable signal given the strains the two countries' ties have faced in recent years.

Why now: India-Canada relations have been strained, so signs of warming ties between the two foreign ministers draw attention.
