Netanyahu's UN visit shortened after New York arrest call
Original: Netanyahu's UN trip will be quick after New York Mayor called for his arrest, Israel envoy says
Israeli officials say Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the United Nations in New York will be brief, after the city's mayor called for his arrest. Israel's envoy to the UN made the remarks ahead of the general assembly session. The visit comes while Netanyahu faces an International Criminal Court warrant, complicating any stop on US soil and drawing attention to how authorities would respond.
Why now: The prospect of the New York mayor calling for the arrest of a serving foreign prime minister at the UN is highly controversial and newsworthy.
