Original: A Deep-Sea Camera Filmed a Great White Shark Hiding From Something at 2,000 Feet
Footage from a deep-sea camera at around 2,000 feet shows a great white shark behaving as if it were hiding from something, an unusual sight for a species with few natural predators at that depth. Viewers are speculating about what could prompt such behaviour, with theories ranging from orcas to other large predators, driving widespread discussion online.
Why now: The rare footage of a top predator acting like prey at extreme depth has sparked speculation about what it was avoiding.
