The Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network has dismissed more than 14 staff members just as they began organizing a union, according to supporters raising funds for the affected workers. A GoFundMe titled 'Stand with WAISN Workers Organizing Their Union' is circulating, and immigration and labor activists in Seattle and the wider Pacific Northwest are urging people to donate and show support.
Why now: The firings coincide with a union organizing effort, drawing accusations of union-busting and prompting a solidarity fundraiser.
