The US Marine Corps has met its fiscal 2026 recruiting goal, bringing in more than 31,000 new recruits. The announcement stands out amid the recruiting shortfalls that have troubled parts of the US military in recent years, and is being reported as a sign that the Corps' recruitment efforts have recovered.
Why now: Military recruitment has been a persistent struggle for US armed services, so a service meeting its goal early is notable news.
