Original: Florida State, other ACC realignment targets push to expand conference cap in college sports bill https://www.nytimes.co
Florida State and other Atlantic Coast Conference schools frequently mentioned in conference realignment talks are lobbying to expand the conference championship cap in pending college sports legislation. The push would allow leagues to grow beyond current limits, reshaping the balance of power in college athletics as schools jockey for position ahead of possible realignment moves.
Why now: Ongoing conference realignment uncertainty in college sports has schools seeking legislative changes that could enable larger super-conferences.
