Original: Trump DOJ launches bizarre investigation into Nixon Watergate scandal https:// lemmy.world/post/52658535
Reports circulating online claim the Trump-era Justice Department has launched an investigation into the Nixon Watergate scandal, a break-in and cover-up from the 1970s long considered closed history. Commenters are calling the move bizarre, questioning why a half-century-old case would attract fresh departmental attention and what political purpose it could serve.
Why now: The reported reopening of scrutiny into a decades-old scandal strikes people as politically strange and unprecedented.
