Posts circulating in the UK claim police handcuffed an eight-year-old boy for fishing without a permit, drawing comparisons to a fatal stabbing case in which suspect Henry Nowak died, with the poster alleging the suspect was never handcuffed. Critics call the treatment of the child heavy-handed and emblematic of two-tier policing; the claims have not been independently verified.
Why now: Claims of disproportionate police treatment of a child versus a stabbing suspect feed ongoing outrage over perceived two-tier policing in the UK.
