Older church members called best discipleship resource
Original: Older members may be your church's best discipleship resource
A commentary argues that senior members of congregations may be the most underused asset in church discipleship, with decades of faith experience and mentoring capacity that churches often overlook when planning ministry. It encourages churches to pair older believers with younger members for spiritual formation rather than reserving them for social or care roles.
Why now: Churches are seeking practical, low-cost ways to disciple younger generations amid declining attendance.
