27th Sunday in Ordinary Time: Rebuild my church
Catholic communities worldwide are marking the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time, with reflections centering on the theme 'Rebuild my church'. Writers, including religious sisters commenting for Global Sisters Report, are drawing on the Gospel reading to discuss renewal of the church's mission and structures. The phrase echoes the famous words attributed to St Francis of Assisi, giving the Sunday's homilies a theme of restoration and reform.
Why now: It is the current Sunday in the Catholic liturgical calendar, prompting homilies and reflections on the readings.
