Trump Calls Economy's Struggles a 'Public Relations' Problem
Original: Trump Says Economy Has ‘Public Relations’ Problem Amid High Prices and Slow Hiring
President Donald Trump said the US economy's main issue is a 'public relations' problem, even as consumers face persistently high prices and hiring has slowed. His comments drew criticism from opponents, who argue rising living costs and a weakening jobs market are real economic problems rather than a messaging issue.
Why now: Voters are frustrated with high prices and slow hiring, making Trump's framing of the economy as a messaging problem highly contentious.
