Raccoon mother teaches her kits to peer through porch window
Original: It seems that Smeagol is already teaching her children to climb around on my porch so that they can stare into my window
A homeowner reports that a raccoon they call Smeagol is teaching her young to climb around the porch and stare through the window. The animal, apparently a regular visitor, has drawn affectionate attention online, with the homeowner sharing wildlife photography of the mother and her kits in a tone that is more amused than annoyed.
Why now: The charming and unusual sight of a raccoon family watching a house from the porch is drawing amused reactions.
