India beat Pakistan for Asian Games cricket gold, no handshakes
Original: No handshakes yet again as India beats Pakistan to clinch cricket gold at Asian Games
India defeated Pakistan to win the cricket gold medal at the Asian Games, but the two teams again skipped the traditional post-match handshake, continuing a pattern of cold relations between the archrivals on the field. Wire coverage of the result and the snub has been picked up widely across regional and national outlets, keeping attention on both the sporting triumph and the lingering tensions it reflects.
Why now: India and Pakistan rarely meet in cricket, and the gold medal win combined with the continued refusal to shake hands makes the fixture a flashpoint.
