A viewer who watched the 2024 remake of the series Shogun says the actor playing John Blackthorne delivers a stiff, wooden performance, and doubts whether a second season is worth making. The 2024 adaptation of James Clavell's novel has otherwise been widely acclaimed, so criticism of its lead is drawing attention.

Why now: The hugely acclaimed 2024 Shogun adaptation is widely watched and discussed, so a critical take on its lead actor and the planned second season sparks debate.
