The most radical thing college can do is change your mind
A student newspaper column argues that the most valuable and radical outcome of a college education is having your mind changed. The piece frames intellectual openness and a willingness to revise deeply held beliefs as countercultural in a polarized climate, where students often face pressure to defend fixed positions rather than genuinely engage with opposing views.
Why now: Debates over free expression, ideology and open inquiry on university campuses keep this argument resonant with students and educators.
