US Muslim group urges action over American teen held by Israel
Original: US Muslim group urges White House, Congress to demand release of American teen held by Israel
A US Muslim advocacy organisation is calling on the White House and Congress to press Israel for the release of an American teenager being held in Israeli custody. The group says US officials should intervene directly to secure the teen's freedom, and the appeal is being picked up across international and Middle East-focused media outlets.
Why now: Ongoing tensions over US-Israel relations and the detention of American citizens keep the story in the news.
