Labour-run London borough weighs record council tax rise

Original: Labour-run London borough considers UK's biggest ever council tax rise https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/record-cou

Hammersmith and Fulham, a Labour-run London borough, is considering what would be the biggest council tax rise in UK history. The move would set a record for local taxation in Britain and is drawing attention to the pressure councils face over funding, with political debate expected over the size of the increase and its impact on residents.

Why now: A record council tax rise by a Labour-run borough is politically sensitive amid wider debate over local government funding.
