Ukraine deploys razor fence that downs attacking drones
Original: Ukraine rolls out drone-stopping razor fence to thwart attacks
Ukraine has introduced a razor-wire barrier designed to stop enemy drones by snagging and severing their fibre-optic control cables, cutting off operators' links mid-flight. The obstacle system is being rolled out along the front line to blunt the growing threat of cable-guided first-person-view drones, which have become one of the most dangerous weapons in the war because they resist electronic jamming.
Why now: Cable-guided drones currently evade jamming defences, so a cheap physical countermeasure is a notable development in the war.
