Microsoft brings Linux container support to WSL

Original: Microsoft is rolling out Linux container support to WSL https:// lemmy.zip/post/72581505

Microsoft has begun rolling out Linux container support in the Windows Subsystem for Linux, allowing developers to run and manage containers directly from their WSL environments on Windows. The move tightens the integration between Windows and Linux tooling and is drawing attention from developers who see WSL increasingly becoming a genuine Linux development platform rather than a convenience layer.

Why now: Developers are interested in WSL gaining container capabilities that reduce the need for separate tools like Docker Desktop on Windows.
