Original: veuzain-sur-loire
Two people died in a road collision in Veuzain-sur-Loire, in the Loir-et-Cher department of France. The crash occurred on the riverside road along the Loire, and emergency services were alerted automatically by a smartphone crash-detection feature, which notified firefighters without anyone needing to call. The automatic alert is drawing attention as it may have reduced response time.
Why now: The fatal crash and the unusual fact that a smartphone automatically alerted firefighters make the story noteworthy.
