Timberwolves Fans Revisit the Star-Studded 1996 NBA Draft

Original: Minnesota Timberwolves What If: Redoing the Star-Studded 1996 NBA Draft

The Minnesota Timberwolves and their fanbase are revisiting the 1996 NBA Draft, one of the most talent-rich drafts in league history, and asking how a redo would play out. The discussion centers on whether Minnesota, picking high that year, would land a future superstar like Kobe Bryant or Steve Nash instead of the player they originally chose, and how that could have changed the franchise's fortunes.

Why now: Interest in alternate-history NBA drafts spikes when writers and fans debate which teams would have landed the era-defining stars available in 1996.
