Five killed as Kyiv and Moscow trade strikes, Russia hits second bridge
Five people were killed as Ukraine and Russia exchanged overnight strikes, with Russian forces hitting a second bridge in what appears to be an ongoing campaign against Ukrainian infrastructure. The exchange marks continued escalation in the war, with both sides targeting territory far from the front lines. Details on the exact locations of the strikes and further casualties remain limited.
Why now: Continued escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war with civilian deaths draws immediate global attention.
