arXiv limits researchers to two paper submissions a month
Original: arXiv imposes rate limit on paper submissions to stem the AI slop tide Two a month per submitter, starting now, and you
arXiv, the open-access preprint server widely used by physicists, mathematicians and computer scientists, has introduced a new rate limit allowing each submitter to post a maximum of two papers per month. The policy takes effect immediately. Observers say the change is aimed at curbing a flood of low-quality, AI-generated submissions that has been overwhelming moderators and cluttering the repository.
Why now: Concern is growing that AI-generated junk science is flooding preprint repositories and degrading research quality.
