Brazil has formally accused the United States of interfering in its affairs, a claim examined in a BBC News video. The accusation stems from US pressure linked to the prosecution of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, including Washington's criticism of the case, tariff threats against Brazil and sanctions on a Brazilian Supreme Court justice. Brazilian officials argue this amounts to meddling in the country's democratic process.
Why now: Tensions between the governments over the Bolsonaro trial and US sanctions have escalated, drawing wide attention.
