Basketball Lower Saxony role reversal: Vechta struggling, Braunschweig flying

Lower Saxony's Bundesliga basketball clubs have swapped roles this season. Vechta, who reached the playoff quarter-finals and qualified for the Champions League, have slumped after a poor start to the campaign, with the early euphoria giving way to sober reflection. Braunschweig, meanwhile, entered the league on a wildcard but are sitting near the top of the table, a surprising turnaround for the promoted side.

Why now: Fans are surprised that wildcard entrant Braunschweig is thriving while Champions League qualifier Vechta has collapsed at the start of the season.
