Plaid leader urges Andy Burnham to back EU membership

Original: Andy Burnham should back EU membership now, says Plaid Westminster leader

Plaid Cymru's Westminster leader says Andy Burnham should now come out in support of EU membership. The call puts pressure on the Greater Manchester mayor, seen as a potential future Labour leader, to clarify his position on Britain's relationship with the European Union as the debate over closer EU ties continues within British politics.

Why now: Burnham is widely viewed as a potential Labour leadership contender, so his stance on EU membership carries weight in the party's direction.
