Houthi-linked media reported loud explosions in Sanaa and accused Saudi Arabia of carrying them out, the first such accusation since fighting resumed in July. The incident comes as President Donald Trump's stance on avoiding a wider Middle East war involving the Houthis draws attention, with observers watching whether the escalation will pull the United States further into the conflict.

Why now: A new escalation between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia raises fears of a wider Middle East war at a moment when Trump's position is being scrutinised.
