The KDE community marks its 30th anniversary as Plasma 6.8 makes a landmark change: the X11 desktop session is removed, making Wayland the default and reference display protocol. Italian-language Linux users are highlighting the milestone, noting that fans of the classic KDE 3 era can still revisit it through the Klassik theme.

Why now: The combination of KDE's 30th anniversary and Plasma 6.8's definitive shift from X11 to Wayland is a major milestone for Linux desktop users.
