Thousands of demonstrators formed human chains in more than 100 cities across Germany, Belgium and beyond under the slogan 'Es brennt!' ('It's burning!'), calling for stronger climate protection and social justice. The protests notably crossed the inner-European border, with participants linking up between Belgium and Germany. Organisers and supporters celebrated the cross-border turnout as a strong show of unity for climate policy.

Why now: Large coordinated cross-border climate demonstrations in over 100 cities are drawing attention to renewed climate activism in Europe.
