Colorado wildlife officials tell residents to bring pumpkins indoors
Original: Colorado Parks and Wildlife urges residents to keep pumpkins indoors
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is asking residents across the state to keep their pumpkins indoors this season. Decorative pumpkins left outside can attract wildlife such as bears and other animals looking for food, creating dangerous encounters near homes. The agency issued the reminder as fall decorations go up, urging people to protect both their property and local wildlife.
Why now: It is fall decoration season, and officials want to prevent bears and other animals from being drawn into neighborhoods by outdoor pumpkins.
