Israeli musician's 'Gaza Holocaust' protest draws attention
Original: ‘The Gaza Holocaust won’t be forgotten’: An Israeli musician screams into the void https:// szmer.info/post/16473280
An Israeli musician has spoken out against the war in Gaza, saying 'The Gaza Holocaust won't be forgotten' in a statement described as a cry into the void. The musician's protest frames Israel's campaign in Gaza in stark historical terms, breaking with mainstream Israeli public opinion. The statement is circulating online and drawing reactions over its provocative comparison and the artist's decision to speak out despite isolation.
Why now: The stark use of the word 'Holocaust' by an Israeli artist against their own government's conduct in Gaza is provocative and rare.
