Israeli artillery shelled multiple areas of southern Lebanon on 7 October, including Shebba, Khiam, Beit Yahoun, Mansouri, and Wadi Al-Salouqi, according to conflict-monitoring reports. The bombardment is part of the ongoing exchange of fire between Israel and Hezbollah-linked targets along the border, which has repeatedly displaced residents and raised fears of a wider escalation.

Why now: Fresh cross-border shelling between Israel and Lebanon is drawing attention amid fears of regional escalation.
