Omani copilot behind Tel Aviv attack had flown Dubai route before
Original: Report: Omani copilot had flown the Dubai-Tel Aviv route several times before his Wednesday terror attack; Israel knew ‘nothing about him’
Reports say an Omani copilot who carried out a deadly attack on Wednesday had flown the Dubai-Tel Aviv route several times before, and that Israeli authorities knew nothing about him in advance. The revelation has raised questions about security screening on the popular Gulf-to-Israel air corridor, a route only recently normalized under the Abraham Accords.
Why now: The attack exposed a security gap on a high-profile commercial air route that Israel's intelligence agencies were unaware of.
