Discerning Deacons to hold forums with Catholic sisters on women deacons
Original: Discerning Deacons plans forums for Catholic sisters on women in the diaconate
Discerning Deacons, a Catholic group advocating for women in the diaconate, is organizing a series of forums with Catholic sisters to discuss the possibility of women serving as deacons. The conversations come as the question of women's ordination to the diaconate remains a live debate in the global Church, with sisters' perspectives seen as influential in ongoing discernment.
Why now: The Catholic Church is actively debating whether women can be ordained to the diaconate, and these forums bring influential religious women into that conversation.
