Houthis claim attack on Saudi Aramco facility
Original: Houthis claim strike on Aramco
Yemen's Houthi movement says it carried out a strike targeting a facility operated by Saudi oil giant Aramco. The claim, issued through the group's usual channels, comes amid ongoing Houthi attacks on Saudi and shipping targets it says are in response to the war in Gaza and regional tensions. Details on damage or casualties were not immediately confirmed, and Saudi authorities have not publicly responded to the claim.
Why now: A claimed strike on Saudi oil infrastructure raises fears of escalation in an already tense region and possible impacts on energy markets.
