Cloudflare challenges developers to build the next Git platform
Original: We want you to build the next Git platform on Cloudflare
Cloudflare has published a challenge calling on developers to build the next Git hosting platform using its infrastructure. The company is inviting engineers to reimagine code hosting and collaboration tools that currently dominate via GitHub and GitLab, running instead on Cloudflare's global network and developer platform. The post has drawn active discussion among developers debating whether a decentralized, edge-based alternative to existing Git platforms is feasible and what it would take to build one.
Why now: Developers are debating the feasibility of a credible open alternative to GitHub built on Cloudflare's infrastructure.
