Nouvelle Vague bring French new wave revival to Sydney's Metro Theatre
Original: Live Gallery: Nouvelle Vague turn the Metro Theatre into a French new wave playground 3.10.2026
Nouvelle Vague performed at the Metro Theatre, delivering a set built around their signature French bossa nova reinterpretations of classic new wave and punk songs. Photos from the gig show the band transforming the venue into what reviewers describe as a playful French new wave playground, with the crowd responding enthusiastically to the group's cabaret-style take on post-punk favourites.
Why now: The band's live shows generate attention for their distinctive covers of 1970s and 80s new wave classics performed in a French lounge style.
