Zelenskiy says Ukraine will strike Russian refineries
Original: EXCLUSIVE: Ukraine will hit Russian refineries in response to Moscow's 'new doctrine' of airstrikes, Zelenskiy says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy says Ukraine will target Russian oil refineries in response to what he calls Moscow's 'new doctrine' of airstrikes against his country. The statement, reported by Reuters, signals an escalation in the two sides' attacks on energy infrastructure, with Kyiv framing its strikes on refineries as a direct answer to intensified Russian bombing of Ukrainian territory.
Why now: Renewed Russian airstrikes and Kyiv's openly announced retaliation strategy have made the deepening energy-war escalation a leading global story.
