Omani copilot behind Tel Aviv route attack was a known unknown to Israel
Original: Report: Omani copilot had flown the Dubai-Tel Aviv route several times before his Wednesday terror attack; Israel knew 'nothing about him'
Reports say the Omani co-pilot who carried out Wednesday's terror attack had flown the Dubai-Tel Aviv route several times before, while Israeli security sources say they knew 'nothing about him' beforehand. The revelation is raising questions about how someone with repeated access to the route went unflagged, and about gaps in screening and intelligence coordination between the countries involved.
Why now: The attacker's repeated flights on the targeted route and Israel's lack of prior knowledge are drawing scrutiny of security and intelligence failures.
