Original: ben whittaker

Unbeaten British light-heavyweight Ben Whittaker returns to fight in his home city of Birmingham, with the BBC arguing the bout should open the door to a shot at the IBF world title. The 27-year-old remains unbeaten as a professional and his homecoming is being framed as a stepping stone towards the top of the division.

Why now: The boxer's hometown return has sparked discussion about his prospects of earning a first world-title fight.
