Tracking Your Bins With Ultra-Wideband Radios
Original: Surely you have ultra-wideband radios on your bins too?
A writer describes building a bin-range setup that uses ultra-wideband radios to check whether the bins have actually been put out, playing on the joke of smart-home overkill applied to a mundane chore. The project resonated with tech readers, who are enjoying both the engineering detail and the absurdity of applying precise radio tracking to wheelie bins.
Why now: A clever, humorous home-automation project mixing niche radio tech with a domestic chore struck a chord with the tech community.
