Kanjani Eight member Murakami Shingo says he never intended to become the main host of the program taking over the slot after Nippon TV's 'Miyane-ya' on Yomiuri TV, joking that criticism like 'Are you the one doing this?' would inevitably follow. His comments have drawn attention as the network reshapes its daytime lineup after the long-running news show.
Why now: Fans and TV watchers are reacting to the surprise choice of a Johnny's idol as the main host of a major daytime news slot.
